C-H-A-N-G-E

Honestly I should say this course was not my first choice. Yet for the ease of arranging my schedule, I considered taking this. In some way I have expected the lessons would be more like a workshop rather than merely lectures, like other courses do. But after going to lesson 1, I was still a little shocked by what we did during the lesson, and how free our mind could go around.

This is the first year of my part time study and I do always love culture. Therefore I have so much expectations and was prepared to have free discussions during class. However, somehow my desire to share and discuss is turned down after taking the courses in the first semester. The learning environment is just so tense and surely too many students in a class, which has no time for discussion or even questions.
I am very disappointed from the beginning of the semester 2 and I have prepared myself for another unfulfilling semester, which be quiet till the end of each class.Surely this is easy and we may give excuse to ourselves for being so tired and occupied with our work, and now what we want is just to lay back and relax. It is like we fall into the trap of being lazy and close down our mind.

Yet this course just like open a door for thinking and reflection, and though we all classmates still seem not so adapted to this mode of learning, I think we still would try our best to critize, question and share. This course may be challenging with so many reference materials and it requires us to exxhange different ideas, I still believe this is what a master course should be.

With the two principles for myself, not to have self-censorship and, beware of being controlled by the mechanism (machine), I feel that I really start to have a change, whenever during my work and life. I hope this change would not only like a spark in my life, and also to save all of from before our minds are all dead.
